Accessibility statement
A scoreboard is only useful if you can read it. PlayTheDream should work with a keyboard, a screen reader, a magnifier or a small phone held in one hand.
Standard
Our benchmark is level AA of WCAG 2.2, applied to every template on the site.
What we have done
- Pressing Tab once on any page reveals a "Skip to content" shortcut past the header.
- All interactive elements have a visible focus outline and can be operated with a keyboard.
- Match-centre tabs follow the ARIA tabs pattern: arrow keys move between tabs and the selected tab is announced.
- Match status labels (not started, live, full time) are text, never colour alone.
- Body copy starts at 17px, and we check every text colour against its background for at least AA contrast.
- Team identity never relies on colour alone: every badge also carries initials, and every row carries the full team name.
- Animations are reduced when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Data tables use proper headers and captions.
Known limitations
- Bracket diagrams on esports pages are visual. The same information is available as a list of series directly beneath each bracket.
- On very narrow screens, wide statistics tables scroll horizontally inside their own container.
