Corrections

When we publish something that is wrong, we fix it and say so. This page explains how to report an error, what we do with the report and where corrections are recorded.

How to report an error

Email corrections@playthedream.com with the page address, what you believe is wrong and, if you can, a source. For a live score, include the match and the minute. We acknowledge reports within two working days.

What happens next

  1. The Feed & Standards Desk logs the report and checks it against the original data or the governing body's records.
  2. If the report is right, the page is corrected and a dated correction note is added at the foot of the article.
  3. The change is added to the log below. We do not quietly edit published facts.

What counts as a correction

  • Correction: a factual error, such as a wrong score, scorer, date or rule.
  • Clarification: a statement that was accurate but could be misunderstood.
  • Update: new information added to an article. These change the updated date but are not logged as corrections.

Live scores can change in the seconds after an event while the data provider confirms it. A scorer reassigned within the same match is part of normal live verification, not a correction. If a result is still wrong after full time, it is.
