Basketball and tennis: box scores, draws and scoring formats
About the desk
Two sports, one desk. The Hardwood & Baseline Desk looks after basketball box scores and tennis draws, sports where the scoring format itself shapes how a result should be read.
The desk writes explainers on scoring systems and on the numbers that appear in our box scores, and it checks that every format note on a league or event page matches the rules that event actually plays under.
